A. Introduction
"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me" (Micah 7:8).
What a powerful promise! "Rise Up!" It's time for somebody to rise up and receive what God has promised.
I was reading the story of a young man named Jerry Long of Texarkana. A number of years ago, when he was age seventeen, he had an accident while diving and became a quadriplegic. He was paralyzed, immobilized. For most of us, that would seem to be the equivalent of a death sentence, or maybe even worse—confined in the prison of our own body for life. But he learned to type with his mouth, and he learned to attend college by speaker phone. Through a combination of listening to lectures by speaker phone and typing his assignments with his mouth, he was able to finish college. It is amazing for someone to have that determination.
